Background
The Video Challenger is a home video game console that was produced by Takara in 1987. It uses special VHS tape-based footage that allows players to shoot targets with a ray gun.
(1987)
Logo: On a black and blue gradient background, we see a orange orb-like thing float downwards to the middle of the screen. We then see some cyan lasers shoot the orb, breaking it into orange shards. The shards then form the silver text "VIDEO CHALLENGER" in a fast font. The "N" in "CHALLENGER" flips turning into an abstract lightning bolt. The logo then shines.
Technique: Primitive 3D animation.
Music/Sounds: A catchy, fast paced tune along with laser sound effects and an orchestral hit sound when the orb breaks.
Availability: Can be seen when you start up the console.
