Background

Студия Воскресение (Revival Studio) is a Russian animation (and later live-action) studio based in Moscow. Founded in 1999 by Artur Tolstobrov and Aleksandra Evseeva. The studio went dormant around 2015 after the release ofBlue Eagle and Pink Whale, directed by Khariton Klimov.

Logo (2008- (print logo); 2010 (animated))

Visuals: Over the gray grainy canvas background, the stylized yellow-and-white winged cow rises from the bottom of the screen towards the center, with the rounded rectangular banner containing the stacked words "студия", "ВОСКРЕСЕНИЕ" and the site URL "www.revival.ru", on the cow. After few seconds, the winged cow proceeds to lift its legs, stretching the banner in the process, preparing to fly away to the left, leaving the screen. And the logo cross-fades to the first scene of the movie/music video.

Trivia: The winged cow itself was drawn by the Russian painter Irina Aleksandrovna Babushkina, and is a call-back to the studio's debut animated short from 2000, Воскресение (Revival). Irina has her own Facebook account.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A continuous, slowly-evolving tanpura drone in the key of E, accompanied by the cartoon wooble sound and a whoosh when the winged cow flaps its wings faster and flies away.

Availability: The in-credit version is commonly seen; but the animated version so far only appears in Икра (Caviar), an animated music video directed by Khariton Klimov, for the song of the same name by St.Olie (Ilona Stolie's music project).
