Background

WJTC is an independent TV station that is licensed to Pensacola, Florida, and is owned by Deerfield Media, alongside with fellow NBC-afiliate WPMI which serves Mobie, Alabama. It signed on the air on December 24, 1984 as an independent station, and branded itself as "C44". The station then got affiliated with UPN in 1995, but became independent after it got passed over for both The CW and MyNetworkTV affiliation. It has branded itself as "UTV 44" ever since.

1st Logo (1991)

Visuals: Against a blue sky with clouds flying around, we see the CGI gold text "C44" pans itsef and flies to the center, with some shining on the logo while it's flying in. When the text stops at the center, it shines again, with a ray of lights moving below it and revealing the text "PENSACOLA-MOBILE-FT.WALTON" with the same color pallete as the "C44" text. The logo then shines multiple times before fading out.

Technique: CGI and some live-action with the background.

Audio: A relaxing guitar tune with an announcer saying: "This is the new C-44, WJTC, Pensacola-Mobile-Fort Walton Beach".

2nd Logo (1995-2002)

Visuals: There are two version:

  • Main Version: We see a gold rectangle with the word "WJTC" on it slides to the left, the number "44" slides to the right, a red rectangle slides up from the bottom, as well as the '95 UPN logo fades in on the left which slowly moves to the right, and a red and a blue rectangles appears on the right. Then, all of them zoom out and form the station's logo.
  • Generic Version: Against a clip of a random of location of Pensacola, Mobile or Ft. Walton Beach, we see the station's logo somewhere on the screen, and the text "PENSACOLA-MOBILE-FT. WALTON BEACH" is seen at the bottom either in black or white, depending on the variant.

Variants:

  • Main Version: There's at least two different background with this version: A clip of a drop 'bouncing' then 'floating' the surface of the mercury liquid, and a clip of sparkles falling all over an aluminum 'diamond tread' plate
  • Generic Version:

Technique: 2D animation for the main variant, live-action for the generic variant.
