1st Warning (Early 1980's-1986)

Visuals: We see the Warning screen scrolling up. On a white background, we see the blue underlined word "WARNING" in a large futuristic font. Below it is the following text in blue:

2nd Warning (1982?-1980s)

Visuals: On a white background, we see the Warner Home Video and United Artists print logos in black. Below is the warning text (also in black) scrolling upwards which reads the following:

WARNING: This videocassette and its

Warner Home Video and the
copyright to the motion picture
recorded on it at all times remains
in Warner Home Video's Licensor.
This videocassette is supplied by
Warner Home Video on the terms
that the motion picture contained
herein shall be for private home
viewing only. Possession of this
videocassette does not confer upon
the user or any other person any
right to copy, duplicate, alter, publicly
perfrom, exhibit, sell, rent, barter, lend,
exchange or otherwise deal in whole
or any part with this videocassette
or the motion picture recorded herein

Variants:

  • On pre-1990 tapes, the text is arranged differently and is in purple, but "WARNER HOME VIDEO PTY.LTD." replaces "THE COPYRIGHT OWNER.".
  • On 1988-1990 tapes, the text is in a different font and is in either blue or grey, but "WARNER HOME VIDEO PTY.LTD." replaces "THE COPYRIGHT OWNER.".
  • On later tapes, the warning text is in Times New Roman-like font and is rearranged.

Availability: Appears on Australian VHS releases by the company, as well as MGM's Australian releases from 1990 to 2000.

4th Warning (1998-)

Visuals: Same as the British warning, but the header is always "WARNING".

Technique: Same as the British warning.

Audio: Same as the British warning.

Availability: Seen on most Australian DVD releases by the company.

5th Warning (1999-)

Same as the Roadshow Entertainment warning screen at the time.

6th Warning (2008?-)


Visuals: Same as the British warning, but the header is always "WARNING".

Technique: Same as the British warning.

Audio: Same as the British warning.

Availability: Seen on most Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray releases by the company.
