Background

Webfoot Technologies was a video game developer based in Lemont that was founded by Dana Dominiak and Paschal Poscol in 1993. It started off making DOS-based games, before making Windows software, and eventually went on to develop games for the Game Boy Advance and the Nintendo DS.

1st Logo (1995-1998)

Visuals: On a space background, there is a yellow duck foot that resembles a shape of the letter "W" with the text "ebfoot" in 3D, placed on the right. Below it, there is the green text "Technologies Inc.".

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None, or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on a handful of MS-DOS games, like Chain Reaction and Bluppo, among others.

2nd Logo (April 9, 1998-2003)

Visuals: On a water background, there is the "W" shape from the previous logo. It then zooms out, and the rest of the text "ebfoot", the trademark symbol and the text "Technologies, Inc." slide in as the paw zooms out.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on lots of PC games, including 3D Tetri Madness, 3D Pinball Express and 3D Frog Frenzy.

3rd Logo (May 14, 2002- )

Visuals: On a space background, there is the Webfoot Technologies logo from before, but only this time, the W is redrawn to be more symmetrical and to have the thicker bottom, the text is set in Arial Black, and the overall design is having a 3D glossy appearance.

Variants:

  • In the early days, a website URL is shown below the logo.
  • On Game Boy Advance games, the background is white.
  • Sometimes, the logo casts a shadow.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on many Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance games, like Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku, Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II, Tonka: On the Job, Texas Hold 'Em Poker Pack, My Little Pony: Pinkie Pie's Party, the American Girl games and The Biggest Loser. It is also seen on the Wii game of Mahjong Party Pack and the 3DS game of The Legend of Korra.
