Revision as of 16:59, 9 October 2023 by Camenati (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "Logo:" to "Visuals:")

1st Logo (May 18, 1989)

Visuals: On a black/blue gradient background, two golden objects with sprockets on its flattening come together from both sides of the screen (leaving behind trails), resembling a "Y" shaped like a whale's tail. It flashes and moves to the right. After this, it shines as sparkles form the text ".C.LAI FILM" from left to right of the symbol. The Chinese translation (in red) fades in below all this, and the logo continues to shine as the English translation "Y.C.LAI FILMS PRODUCTION CO., LTD." zooms out (also with a trail effect) and flashes below the logo. The logo continues to shine until we fade out.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: It starts with a timpani roll, then a fantasy theme plays with sparkles being heard.

Availability: Seen on Close Escape.

2nd Logo (October 10, 1990)

Visuals: On a space background, we see many sparking bling stars and crystals zooming toward us. The gold object which resembles the "Y", forms itself with some of crystals as the starfield, many bling stars and crystals, disappear. The "Y" flashes itself and sparkles. The company name in Chinese and "Y. C. LAI FILM PRODUCTION COMPANY LTD.", fade in. The "Y" continues to sparkle until it stops.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Only seen on Point of No Return.
