ZAG Entertainment

Revision as of 17:57, 9 October 2022 by Camenati (talk | contribs) (Removed "the late" after seeing Shakla's edits. There are many deceased people on the site and they do not have said term beforehand, not to mention everyone dies eventually so this is technically redundant. Also, there's "great" in the mix. Once again, many great composers mentioned on the site don't have this word preceding it so it's redundant.)

Background

ZAG Entertainment, also known as Zagtoon, ZAG Animation Studios, ZAG Heroez or simply ZAG, is a production/animation company founded in 2009 by Jeremy Zag. It is best known for creating and producing Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, and the franchise it has spawned.

(2015- )

Logo: On a black background, a light shines on a metal object, revealing the ZAG logo (the word "ZAG" in a Trajan font over a curved line) as it rotates from the left and zooms out and settles in the top center. The word "HEROEZ", likewise metallic, comes from the right side of the screen, spinning about and settling below. The "Z" in "HEROEZ" is in blue, but slanted. Two objects slide from both sides of the screen, making it a rectangle, which briefly flashes as it forms. The logo shines a bit.

Variants:

  • An in-credit version of this logo exists.
  • On a newly opening variant of the logo, it begins with a clip from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, where we notice Marinette says her famous line, then we proceed to the shot of her perfect transformation followed by the part where Ladybug does her "lucky charm" tricks, but among other clips (including a shot of Hawk Moth). Other clips from Power Players and Zak Storm are followed with the rest of them (especially where a shot of Alya can be shown). The last two clips include shots of Ladybug and Cat Noir's heroic forms, then ends up with the ZAG Heroez logo afterwards.

FX/SFX: The spinning and flashing effects. All CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the opening variant, we hear the sounds and dialogue as Marinette (voiced by Cristina Vee) does her famous line, "Tikki, spots on! Ha!". After that, a "remastered" version of the orchestral fanfare from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (also used in the 1991 Morgan Creek and 2007 WDSHE logos), composed by Michael Kamen, plays throughout the clips as well.

Availability: Seen on shows such as Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, Power Players and Zak Storm under the ZAG Heroez label. The opening variant will be expected to appear on the official ZAG Heroez channel on YouTube, as well as Miraculous: The Complete Series special that becomes premiered on the newly upcoming home media release.

Editor's Note: The logo, made of stainless steel, can be pretty realistic. The major heroic animation industry behind the Miraculous series began a well-majestic CGI animation of the on-screen logo.
