Background
Astra Video was a short-lived controversial pre-cert label.
Logo (January 1982-August 1983)
Visuals: On a black background, a stacked "AV" appears in a retro futuristic font, made of glowing orange lines. A still ping is also seen on the bottom of the "V". About halfway into the logo, the text "MOVIE MAGIC FROM ASTRA" wipes in below.
Variant: A variant exists where the symbol has extra saturation and gamma applied to it and is set higher, and the text is lower. The logo is still.
Technique: Chyron effects.
Audio: A UFO-like violin note, extended to play throughout the entire logo. None for the variant.
Availability:
- Seen on a majority of their library, which includes Snuff, Blood Feast, I Spit On Your Grave, among others.
- It also appears at the start of the 1983 UK pre-cert VHS release of The Adventures of Choppy and the Princess.
