Astron-6 (Late Night Movie Bumper)

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Background

This is a bumper used by Canadian film production company Astron-6 to introduce the film in the style of an 80's television bumper.

Bumper (October 21, 2011)

Visuals: On a black-blue-medium purple vertical gradient zooming space background, "LATE NIGHT MOVIE", in a stacked format and retro rounded font, zooms out through multiple thin gold light trails bursting in front of the main, unfilled copy. The copies merge back into said copy after the zoom-out, causing it to burst and glow. The glow in the text dims while a white ball of lights draws around it, forming a rounded rectangular gold marquee border, flashing after being fully formed. Then, each letter in "LATE NIGHT" spark one at a time for the remainder of the sequence.

Technique: CGI made to resemble analog computer animation.

Audio: Beginning with drum beats, a smooth synthesized keyboard instrumental track plays.

Availability: The bumper is seen on Father's Day.
