Background

Babu Movies was an Indian Tamil/Telugu film production company.

1st Logo (April 11, 1962-January 31, 1964)

Visuals: In a dark, cloudy night-time setting, there is a carved stone structure bearing a rocky platform displaying a boulder with a stylized "BM" within it. The structure appears to be on top of a stylized pedestal that contains the company name within a white box. Other more faint stone structures can be seen in the background.

Technique: A filmed painting.

Audio: A low-toned fanfare comprising brass and woodwind instruments.

Availability: Seen in Manchi Manasulu and Mooga Manasulu.

2nd Logo (March 31, 1965-April 14, 1977)

Visuals: Over a dark sky setting, a tall, detailed platform can be seen on a set of puffy clouds facing toward the right-hand side. The platform rotates 90 degrees to the left, which is revealed to be split into two platforms: one with more wood, and the other being more metallic. While the platform rotates, the sky brightens, and the metallic letters "BM" are also shown on top of a pillow sitting on top of the platform. A spotlight is also seen flashing the setting on and off.

Variant: In Thene Manasulu, the logo is shown in color: here, the sky is in a yellow-orange gradient, and the spotlight is colored yellow.

Technique: Practical effects.

Audio: A more triumphant rendition of the fanfare with a lyre glissando at the start and two ascending glockenspiel glissandos at the start and finish.

Availability: Seen in Thene Manasulu, Undamma Bottu Pedatha, Thaai, and Oruvanukku Oruthi.
