Following the death of Dato Loke Wan Tho, the founder of the original Cathay Organisation in 1935, [[Motion Picture and General Investment Co., Ltd.]] was rebranded as '''Cathay Organisation (HK)'''.
The Cathay Organisation, having the same [[Cathay Organisation (Singapore/Malaysia)|Singaporean]] origins as its main competitor Shaw Brothers, set its foothold in Hong Kong by establishing International Films Distributing Agency in early 1950s. In 1955, it took over [[Yung Hwa Motion Picture Industries (Hong Kong)|Yung Hwa Studios]] (永華片場) and rationalised its operations as Motion Picture & General Investment Co., Ltd., MP & GI for short.S

1st Logo (1965-1967)

Visuals: Superimposed over a Chinese carving is the company name in red Chinese text (above the screen and written backwards). Below it is a small stylized print version of the Cathay Building, similar to one in the 1st or 2nd MP/GI logo, with "CATHAY" on the left and "SCOPE" on the right, both in the blocky font.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: An traditional ditty fanfare.

2nd Logo (1967-1970)


Visuals: Over the red curtain background is the 2D version of the Cathay Building in black with the white outline, two big Chinese characters (again, written backwards), "CATHAY ORGANISATION (HK.)(1965) LTD." and the metallic ribbon banner model below with the Chinese translation of the company name, we then cross-fade to the smaller print version of the same picture, except the ribbon banner is in the different shape, with "CATHAY" on the left, "SCOPE" on the right and same Chinese translation of "CATHAY SCOPE" on the bottom.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: A bombastic trumpet fanfare. On rare occasions, it uses the drumbeat (a la the Fox fanfare), followed by a loud bombastic and at the same time triumphant fanfare with the last note being held. (similar to Union Film).

Availability: It is known to have appeared on A Pearl in Command.

3rd Logo (1968-1977)


Visuals: Over a spinning yellow/green sunburst, there is a yellow outlined drawing of a Cathay building fading in. While almost faded in, there are two big Chinese characters fading in at each side of the building with a, tall, sans-serif "CATHAY ORGANISATION (H.K.) (1965) LTD." fading below it alongside. After this, the entire logo crossfades into a distorted-to-the-center, white, sans-serif "CATHAY SCOPE" with a white Chinese text below it.

Audio: A long somber trumpet fanfare.
