Background

Devillier Donegan Enterprises (DDE) was a documentary distribution company established in 1980. DDE often partnered with filmmakers to produce documentary films ranging in various subjects including history, sports, nature, science, and arts. Their programs were distributed domestically on networks such as PBS, The Discovery Channel, and TLC, and internationally on networks including ORF and Lion Television.

1st Logo (1980-????)

Logo: On a black background, we see the words "PRESENTED BY" in a white Ariel font, along with the company's name below, presented in a bold serif font with the first letter in each word in dark orange, with the rest of the text colored yellow. Above and below the names "DEVILLIERDONEGAN" are a total of four thick red lines, two for each name. Another red line underlines the word "ENTERPRISES".

Availability: Ultra rare. Was seen on U.S. television releases of Monty Python's Flying Circus.


2nd Logo (1980s)


Logo: On a deep blue gradient background, we see the the following text unfold into view:

Similar to the design of the previous logo, four lines are present both above and below "DEVILLIER·DONEGAN", along with another line below "ENTERPRISES". The text shine from left to right as the background darkens before the logo fades to black.

FX/SFX: Rather simple animation of the logo unfolding and shining.
