Background

Les Films Osso was a French film company founded by French producer Adolphe Osso, which was also once the distributor of Columbia Pictures material in France.

1st Logo (September 18, 1930-July 9, 1931)

Visuals: Over a flickering sunburst backdrop, there is the silhouette of a hill with the Eiffel Tower on top of it. Underneath the tower is the text:

Technique: Practical effects and cel animation.

Audio: A royal brass fanfare with timpanis rolling.

Audio Trivia: The soundtrack is taken from the closing theme of the film Le mystère de la chambre jaune.

Availability: Seen on Le mystère de la chambre jaune, Méphisto, and Un soir de rafle.

2nd Logo (August 28, 1931-May 17, 1938)

Visuals: On a dark background, there is the Eiffel Tower with a sunburst behind it. Below it, there is the text:

The logo slowly zooms in until it gets close enough. It then fades away.

Variant: There's a closing variant in the movie Le triangle de feu, where the logo just goes backwards.

Technique: Practical effects.

Audio: The movie's opening or closing theme.

Audio Variant: Some films have the previous logo's soundtrack.

Availability: Seen in some films like Le quai des brumes.
