Background
This was the rental-only branding of MGM/CBS Home Video, then MGM/UA Home Video, which was only in operation for a few months in 1982.
(February-July 1982)
Logo: On a black background, we see a red line forming a cloud-like outline. After the line has finished forming, yellow text in a royal font surrounding the outline "First Run" flashes in. The text "HOME VIDEO THEATER" in red fades in afterwards.
Technique: Computer effects.
Music/Sounds: A whooshing sound as the outline is drawn. Closing variants have an announcer herald previews for upcoming titles.
Availability: Seen on the six rental-only offerings from MGM/CBS's First Run Home Video Theatre label: Tarzan the Ape Man (1981 version), S.O.B., Rich and Famous, ...All the Marbles, Whose Life Is It Anyway?, and Pennies from Heaven.
