I've been thinking lately that our instant-block approach to the sockpuppetry/single account rule is dated, perhaps a relic of our drama-filled past on WF. I'm concerned that our current approach to this may be driving off good-faith contributors who simply changed their minds about what username they wanted and were unfamiliar with the Global Rename system or who may have reapplied due to a glitch of some sort. I think that if someone joins, then makes another account without showing any disruptive intentions, we should at first warn them on their talk page about our account policy. The warning could look like this:
