Background
Hat Trick Productions Video is the video arm of Hat Trick Productions that was formed in 1993. Its titles were distributed by Video Collection International (now 2 Entertain).
Logo (1993-1998)
Visuals: On a black-gray gradient background, a hand-drawn image is seen, consisting of a rabbit with a smug look pulling out a frightened magician out of a hat (an reversal of the stereotypical image of a magician pulling a rabbit out of his hat), casting a shadow in the background. Below that, there's the text "HAT TRICK PRODUCTIONS LTD VIDEO", along with a copyright date.
Variant: In later years, the text is deleted, allowing the rabbit drawing to take up the whole screen. A large TM bug is also seen in the lower right corner.
Technique: A still graphic.
Audio: None.
Audio Variant: At the beginning of the 1993 Hat Trick promo, a saxophone theme is heard.
Availability: Appears on UK VHS releases of Clive Anderson specials, Have I Got News for You and Father Ted.
Legacy: The basic concept of the logo was reused for the 1998 Hat Trick Productions logo. This was also the first time a print Hat Trick logo was used on-screen.
