La Géode
This article covers logos that contain flashing images. |
Background
La Géode is a mirror-finished dome handling an Omnimax theater residing in La Villette, part of the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, France.
1st Logo (1990s?-2007)
This logo contains flashing images at 0:09-0:55. |
Visuals: The same as the IMAX "Wormhole", but the flash replaces the tunnel with an extreme close-up of the theater's logomark (a globe surrounded by a white ring and a rainbow line at the bottom, along with "la géode" in red underneath and a red square on the top-right corner) zooming away leaving a light trail against a black background. After it stays static for a few seconds, it zooms inwards until it is no longer on-screen.
Technique: Cel animation done by Graphic Films Corporation.
Audio: The same music used in the IMAX "Wormhole".
Availability: Most likely seen on La Géode Omnimax theaters during the time, but as of now, only various camrips surface on the internet.
2nd Logo (2007-)
This logo contains flashing images at 0:09-0:55. |
Visuals: Same as before, but as the flash appears, an extreme close-up of a globe spinning around itself can be seen instead. Then, the globe becomes La Géode (one of the attractions of Futuroscope, where there are releases of films in HQ), and then it becomes a drawing of the attraction, and finally, it becomes the logo of La Géode, which disappears, leaving the starfield spinning.
Technique: Cel animation and CGI.
Audio: Same as the previous logo.
Audio Variant: On the YouTube release, the audio instead ends with the Graphic Films Corporation whoosh.
Availability: Seen in La Géode theaters.
