Logo (1988-1990)
Visuals: On a white background is a television tube with moving colorful sketchy lines on it. Afterwards, the red word "Ladybird" appears letter by letter, and a drawing of a ladybird (a British ladybug) fades in. The TV tube with the ladybird moves to the right side, and "Ladybird" and the black word "VIDEO" wipe in. The background turns to a red and white gradient, and a yellow line fades in below the logo.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: A happy-sounding synth tune with xylophones, which is actually "Mr. Digital" by Jonathan Hodge.
Availability: Seen on all UK VHS releases by Ladybird Video from the time-period until 1990, such as the 1988 UK VHS releases of Read It Yourself: The Ugly Duckling and Ladybird Video: Tom Thumb and The Little Mermaid, and the 1989 UK VHS releases of Bangers & Mash: Eggs Is Eggs and 8 Other Stories and First Songs among others.
