Background
Lucian Films Video was a home video distribution company that was formed in 1986 as a subsidiary of Lucian Films to release home video titles. The company then set up labels called Live Video and Gold Video. Like its parent company, it was reorganized in the 1990s, the company was renamed to Gardiner S.A. Many of the company employees joined SBP Worldwide to acquire many assets.
1st Logo (1986-1989)
![](/w/thumb.php?f=Lucianfilmsvideo1.webp&width=350)
Visuals: On a black background with a white grid, there is a projector with a photo of the man singing in a silhouette on a left, sliding in. The word "LUCIAN FILMS S.A. slides in from the right of the projector, and it flickers with a pair of rainbow colors sliding in. The word "Video" in a blue script zooms out from the right.
Technique: 2D animation.
Audio: A synth theme.
Availability: Seen on many VHS Argentina prints such as Miami Cops, Techica De Un Homicidio, El Macho, Alien 2, El Verdugo Implacable, Lola, Peloton Salvaje, Orden De Matar, La Picara Mujer Policia, Violencia Carnal, Flavia y Grock, Las Travesuras De Dot, Cancion De La Muerte, and Ico: El Caballito Valiente.
2nd Logo (1989-1991)
![](/w/thumb.php?f=Lucianfilmsvideo2.webp&width=350)
Visuals: On a background of multicolored shapes in 3D, there is a triangle moving. The shapes then turn around over a black background, and we see a pair of spheres, cubes and triangles forming together to form a white background, and it takes the entire the screen. The word "LUCIAN FILMS" in black with a white outline, then, letter-by-letter, it zooms in to form the same text in blue, with a drop shadow. Sometimes, the text fades out to make room for "PRESENTA" or "ANTICIPA" in yellow.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: The Video Marc Dorcel jingle.
Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]
3rd Logo (1991-1996)
Visuals: On an orange sheet background, blue pieces of the red "L" and a blue line slides in. More lines slide as the rest of the letters, "U", "C", "I", "A" and "N" slide in and fly over. The blue line draws the red words "LUCIAN", and draw a series of "L" in a snake. A white rectangle slides in from a blinds effect and surrounds the Lucian logo. The Lucian logo zooms out to make way for either "ANTICIPA" or "PRESENTA" in a Broadway font flipping in.
Variants:
- Earlier releases have a slightly dimmer glare of the sheet background which is now colored lime. This time, the animation sequence from the beginning is trimmed out. The blue line summons a white star after it starts drawing the logo symbol. At the end of the animation, the finished result flips away and "ANTICIPA" or "PRESENTA" wipes in underneath. For children releases, "INFANTIL" in lime appears underneath the main logo.
- For children releases, the logo is slightly modified:
- 1992-1994?: As the main logo zooms away, "Infantil" wipes underneath said logo.
- 1994-1996: "Infantil" in red with a white outline and drop shadow in a 90° clockwise angle wipes next to the main logo. It would disappear in sync with the main logo and the white text dissolving.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A techno theme.
