This is the sponsor bumper used by Maxis.
Bumper (August 8-September 17, 2008)
Visuals: The bumper starts on a blue-green gradient background with several transparent Chinese graphic of clouds passing by. As a white gradient fades in in the middle, two of the variants consisting of the green scribble from the Maxis logo is shown during sports segments, including:
- Table Tennis: The green scribble bounces from the left and right and repeats five times in sync with the sounds of a ping-pong ball. The "maxis" wordmark in blue then fades in as the green scribble bounces on the "i", forming the logo. "Brings you closer to BEIJING!", with "BEIJING" in a calligraphic font, fades in before the scribble stops bouncing.
- Hockey: The green scribble is seen rolling quickly to the left as a silver hockey puck on the right grabs it while moving. Another hockey puck on the left then tries to grab it two times, and it succeeded, but only to get grabbed by the hockey puck on the right. The two hockey pucks fight each other and at the end, the hockey puck on the left knocks the scribble far away as two of them moves away from the screen, as the scene cuts to a green scribble rolling from the left to the right quickly, followed by the "maxis" wordmark, as the green scribble settles onto the "i", causing "Brings you closer to BEIJING!" from the previous variant fades in below.
Variant: When the bumper is shown before and after the Beijing Olympics 2008 matches, and after its promos, "Broadcast Sponsor" fades in above the logo in the same time as "Brings you closer to BEIJING!". This is used as part of its sponsorship segment with Ogawa, Panasonic and Spritzer.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Corresponding sound effects (crowd cheering and the sounds of sport events), followed by a flute piece and a male announcer saying "Maxis, the official broadcast sponsor of Beijing Olympics 2008, on Astro!"
Availability: This bumper was seen before and after the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games matches on Astro, and after its Beijing 2008 Olympic Games promos. It was also seen on its Destination Beijing segment, which is shown during commercial breaks or continuities on Astro channels.
