Background

Photo Video was a Greek video distribution business located in the city of Rhodes, mainly focusing on transferring Super 8 films to videocassette.

1st Logo (1988?)

Visuals: The sequence starts with videos of fireworks. Then it cuts to some particles making patterns. The yellow and white pattern then flashes a bit until it cuts to a strange gray spiral moving flashing different colors. The spiral stops moving, which reveals that it is the logo leaving trails, which has the following text:

PHOTO VIDEO
ΚΑΤΣΑΜΟΥΝΔΗΣ
ΣΤΟΑ ΡΟΙΚΟΥ 10
ΤΗΛ. 24749-22292
ΡΟΔΟΣ

Two of the lines are either flashing colors or changing darkness and the border "shines". Then it cuts to the logo on a black background with Greek text with some of it flashing different colors are seen below the logo, reading:

ΑΝΑΛΑΜΒΑΝΟΥΜΕ ΒΙΝΤΕΟΣΚΟΠΗΣΕΙΣ
ΓΑΜΩΝ ΒΑΠΤΙΣΕΩΝ ΕΚΔΗΛΩΣΕΩΝ

A few seconds later, the screen cuts to another series of text:

ΦΩΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΣΕΙΣ ΕΜΦΑΝΙΣΕΙΣ
ΜΕΤΑΤΡΕΠΟΥΜΕ ΤΑ ΦΙΛΜ SUPER 8 ΣΕ ΒΙΝΤΕΟΚΑΣΕΤΑ
ΑΥΤΟΜΑΤΕΣ ΦΩΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΕΣ ΣΕ 1 ΛΕΠΤΟ

It then cuts to the logo alone, which then spirals around with a trail effect. The logo then stops trailing around and the background remains as a complicated mess of colors. It then finally cuts back to fireworks.

Technique: Sprite animation and live-action.

Audio: An excerpt of "Equinoxe, Pt. 5" by Jean-Michel Jarre. It appears to be higher-pitched than normal.

Availability: Seen on Greek home memory VHS tapes of the time. [Examples?]

Legacy: This is seen as one of the worst logos by the logo community, due to its long length and animation.

2nd Logo (1993?)

Visuals: Over a black background is the color-changing "PHOTO VIDEO" text in an arc shape, with various Greek text below it (Same as before with "& YIOΣ" next to Katsamoundis' name). After five seconds, it cuts to the logo on a space background. The logo moves away from the background, to the bottom right corner of the screen. After 20 seconds, the logo finally flies away, and it cuts to live-action footage of a harbor (actually in Rhodes, Greece), where the text "PHOTO VIDEO" in red, and "Katsamoundis and Son" in yellow, while the camera pans across the harbor. The logo cuts off abruptly.

Technique: Sprite animation and live-action with chyron effects.

Audio: The excerpt of "Equinoxe, Pt. 5" by Jean-Michel Jarre from the previous logo, this time in its normal pitch.

Availability: Seen on Greek home memory VHS tapes of the time. [Examples?]

Legacy: Like the previous logo, this is also known to be one of the worst logos that the logo community has found, mainly due to the animation.
