Background

Play Video is a series of VHS cartoon compilations released by Kid Stuff Records in 1988. There are a total of six releases, each containing three cartoons, with each cartoon being followed by an "interactive" game which requires a "magic screen" (a piece of folded plastic) to cover the TV set, on which a crayon will be used to draw on to answer the game.

Logo (1988)

Visuals: The screen fades in to a red background. Multiple copies of a black/blue gradient square with the Kid Stuff logo (red, yellow, and blue 3D text reading "Kid Stuff" with a cartoon balloon above the "i") zoom in as the camera pans to the left. The camera then pans to the right on one square, which takes up the whole screen. The Kid Stuff logo spins vertically and zooms out, which is then followed by the Play Video logo (a yellow rectangle with a white border, containing the text "INTERACTIVE Games & Cartoons" and a light blue rectangle which itself contains the text "PLAY VIDEO™") zooming in while spinning horizontally. The following copyright notice appears below:

Kid Stuff ® and Play Video™ are

The copyright notice fades out after several seconds, followed by the rest of the logo fading out.

Technique: Computer effects.

Audio: A bouncy, organ-like synthesized tune.

Availability: It is known to have appeared at the beginning of the Bugs Bunny tape from this line. The remaining five releases (Popeye, Superman, Casper the Ghost, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig) should have this logo as well, but currently none of them have been found.
