Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) (English: Radio Television of Malaysia) is the national public broadcaster of Malaysia. Established on April 1, 1946 as Radio Malaya, it is the first and the oldest broadcaster in the country. Currently, it operates six television channels (TV1, TV2, TV Okey, Berita RTM, Sukan RTM, and TV6) and 34 radio stations nationwide.

Music/Sounds: A horn fanfare.

Availability: This only appeared when color TV broadcasting in Malaysia launched.

3rd Logo (December 27, 1987-July 31, 2004)

The RTM logo from the time (a globe symbol within a silver square and a blue banner with rtm on it horizontally covering part of it) zooms in. The channel's slogan, "Teman Setia Anda", then writes in underneath the logo, followed by an orange line under the text.

Technique: CGI. The space background is taken from Cascom, an American motion graphics company.

Music/Sounds: A bombastic fanfare with a group of people singing "RTM... Teman Setia Anda! (RTM... Your Loyal Friend!)"

Availability:

  • This was shown accompanying the RTM1 ID as a flagship ident. It would eventually accompany the TV1 and TV2 idents from 1990, which lasted until both channels rebranded on July 31, 2004.
  • Despite the rebranding of the company's channels during the 1990s and the early 2000s, this logo continued to be used on the channels' startups until July 31, 2004.
  • It has also been said that this logo appeared before the beginning of any newscast of the company's channels, particularly Dunia Jam 10 (The World at 10) and Berita Perdana (Prime News).

4th Logo (in-credit variant) (1987?-July 31, 2004)

7th Logo (January? 2011-2018?)

Logo: On a black background, we see the rtm logo flying to the center in two different ways, depending on the logo.

  • One variant shows the colored square-thorns spiraling around to the left of the screen as the rtm logo flies to the center of the screen with a reflection appearing below. As the logo then does a full turn, Persembahan appears as the letters get close together. As a light flashes at the top right of the m, copyright info and the company's website URL appear at the bottom right of the screen, depending if the letters appear one by one, or they fade in.
  • Another variant shows the logo spinning until it settles its position, forming a trail which disappears rapidly. Different copyright info from the other variant fades in underneath the logo.
    • There is also a reanimated version of this variant, where an orange light is present as the logo spins and a blue light flashes as the copyright info wipes in.

Variant: A still variant exists where the logo is in 2D.

Technique: 3D CGI for the normal variants. None for the still variant.

Music/Sounds: Either none or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Appeared at the end of original programs that aired on the company's channels at the time, such as Titik Sentuhan.

8th Logo (2015-2019)

Logo: On a black background, we see a violet light trail resembling the rtm logo zoom away from us. The rtm logo then appears and settles at its usual position as the light trail disappears. Persembahan appears letter by letter above as the logo does a full X-axis rotation. A light flashes on top of the logo as copyright info, the company's name, and the website URL appears letter by letter at the bottom right of the screen.

Variant: Starting from 2016, the light trail had been changed to light blue.

Technique: 3D CGI.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Appeared at the end of original programs that aired on the company's channels at the time. You may also find this logo on documentaries.

9th Logo (2017)

Logo: Four blue light rays fly in on a black background, creating a flash along with glowing dust particles and a blue-white shape resembling the rtm logo, with Persembahan above it and copyright info at the bottom right of it. The actual logo then wipes in. After a few seconds, the screen flashes, making everything disappear.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Only appeared on a few of the company's programs from the time.

10th Logo (2019-early 2021)

Logo: Over a black surface, the border of the rtm logo forms before it is filled to completely replicate the logo. Below the logo, © Hak Cipta Terpelihara [YEAR] appears character by character as the camera turns to face the logo and the copyright info. A very dim light fades in at the bottom left of the screen, and a flash appears at the top left of the r before fading.

Technique: Same as before.

Music/Sounds: Either none or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Same as the 7th logo.

11th Logo (early-March 31, 2021)

Logo: Against a gray gradient background, we see three different views of blue, orange, white, and gray layers being formed, resembling the shape of the rtm text. We pan to the right on the r, down on the t, and right on the m. The text tilts as it moves from us slightly as the gradient background turns navy and the orange flare-resembling portion of the logo forms around the text as the ball reveals itself and flashes, while the company name and copyright info wipes in below the logo.

Technique: Same as before.

Music/Sounds: Either none or a long, held eerie chord note accompanied by silent roaring-like noises.

Availability: Same as before.

12th Logo (April 1, 2021-)

Logo: Depending on the color of an animated background, we see the RTM logo (redesigned to make the curve of the r longer to have an orange gradient and the ball at the middle of the curve) with copyright info next to it.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen at the end of news programmes from the company.

13th Logo (in-credit variant) (April 1, 2021-)

Logo: It's mostly similar to the 4th and 6th logos, with the current RTM logo.

Technique: Mostly same as the 4th and 6th logos.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen at the end of some programmes from the company, such as Infiniteen.

14th Logo (April 1, 2021-2023)

Logo: On a gray background, a light flashes at the top of the screen as Terbitan appears letter by letter, a blue light passes to the right of the screen, and the rtm logo along with its slogan "TEMAN SETIA ANDA (YOUR LOYAL FRIEND)" appears, depending on the type of action:

  • It may spin away from us along with its slogan until they stop zooming away from us.
  • The orange light may fly around as the text forms until the light creates an oval to form the curve of the r, forming the entire logo with the orange ball appearing at the center of the curve. The slogan appears when the light dims.

The light then dims a bit and the company's name appears under the slogan. Copyright info appears letter by letter at the bottom.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: Either none or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on the company's programmes from the time, such as Cinta Yang Tertangguh, Imamku Okey, and Misi Seramedi.

15th Logo (2023-)

Logo: On a paper sheet with dots, a sketch of the rtm logo draws itself, followed by a model resembling the sketch appearing. The colors in the model of the logo form, along with the slogan, Teman Setia Anda underneath it, as we face toward the logo. As the logo shines and we zoom away from it a bit, "Terbitan" wipes in above the logo, along with the company's name and copyright info under the logo.

Variant: On A.M. Show, due to its aspect ratio being 9:16, the logo is cropped.

Technique: 3D CGI.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on the company's current programmes.
