Background

Screen Entertainment was a very obscure British VHS distributor active during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Logo (1980s-1990s)

Visuals: On a dark blue-grey gradient background, two yellow crosses appear on the screen. They then spin for a few seconds as a white rectangle with a blue rectangle inside pops up. The crosses stop spinning, and the words "screen entertainment" slide in from both sides. Then, "Presents", in a Brush Script font, zooms up to the screen, then the logo fades out, leaving just "Presents". The logo fades out after a few seconds.

Variants:

  • On Wizbit and Friends, the logo cuts directly to the beginning of the programme right after the music ends.
  • At the end of some programmes, the still logo appears with a copyright notice below.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A fast-paced synth fanfare then ends with an orchestra.

Audio Variant: Other times, the logo is silent.

Availability: This appears on Wizbit and Friends and Zit: The Video, and the UK VHS release of the Shadow Theater: The Best of Horror series.

  • It also appears on the 1992 UK VHS release of Ovide And The Gang: Volume 1, among others.
