Background

Super Video S.A. was a video distributor in Argentina.

1st Logo (1980's)

Visuals: On a black background, a blue emblem circle with an S and a V, and the wordmark "SUPER VIDEO" with the small "S.A." next to it are seen zooming into the screen with large trails behind, which later move down. The logo then moves down when "PRESENTA" appears, which also later makes trails.

Technique: Video feedback effects.

Audio: A snippet of "Smiles and Smiles to Go" by Larry Carlton.

Availability: Seen on old Argentine PAL tapes from the 1980s [Examples?].

2nd Logo (1980's)

Visuals: Various white filmstrip holes come out vertically with colored filters on a black background. The sequence then fades into what looks like gray buildings with cyan windows, or tall sets of TVs, with the windows having the same position as the filmstrip holes. Suddenly static appears on all of the windows. Colors appear on the borders. The screen cuts into a yellow live action card with the blue "SUPER VIDEO" text and red underlines, with the S.A. next to them moving from left to right. The screen cuts into the buildings/sets of TVs being dissolved. The screen cuts into another yellow card, this time with the Super Video emblem logoon it.

Technique: A mix of 2D animation and live-action.

Audio: A 3-note synth theme at the beginning, followed by a whoosh. A monophonic bassline with drum hits then plays.

Availability: Unknown [Examples?].

3rd Logo (1980s)

Visuals: The company logo is seen on a beige background. This sequence remains for four seconds before another image is shown, in which the logo is now zoomed out and placed on the top half of the screen. Below is blue text reading "SUPER VIDEO", both of which are leaving behind a yellow trail and have a red base at the back. Next to the text is small text reading "S.A." and at the bottom of the screen is "PRESENTA", which is written in white with a black outline.

Technique: A cutting transition between two static images.

Audio: An 80s style pop song with a male singing voice.

Availability: Unknown [Examples?].
