Background
In 1987, the home video subsidiary of the Taft-Hardie Group, THG Video was renamed itself to Taft Video. After a management buyout by Neil Balvades, the head of the group in 1988 and its parent was renamed to Southern Star Entertainment, it was renamed to Southern Star Video in 1989. CIC-Taft Video continues to distribute the titles.
Logo (1988-1990)
Visuals: On a blue background are hundreds of words that say "Taft Video" squeezing and moving around changing dimensions. Once this animation is complete it loops again as from the centre of the screen another "Taft Video" zooms in and rotates until it stops. The background overlaps the finished product and stops.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: None.
Availability: This comes after a CIC Australian warning screen and precedes a quiet Worldvision Home Video logo. Can be found on a 1988 copy of Oliver and the Artful Dodger as well as a VHS of Blades and Day of the Panther.
