These are the logo variations seen on trailer throughout the years by Universal Pictures, with more to be added overtime.


Always (1989): The logo swipes up from United International Pictures logo. Only seen on one international TV spot.


Bird on a Wire (1990): The 1963 Universal logo gets shot at twice, with a flash for each gunshot.


Matinee (1993): The 1991 logo is in black and white.


CB4 (1993): The movie title gets interrupted by the still version of the logo, and gets ripped off on the middle by Albert Brown / M.C. Gusto (played by Chris Rock). Only seen on one TV spot.


Jurassic Park (1993, 2013 Universal Studios Home Entertainment DVD): On the trailer for the 3D re-release in 2013, the 2012 logo is used and the camera zooms in to Isla Nublar on the globe.


Schindler's List (1993): Same as the Matinee variant. Only on the theatrical trailer and TV spot.


Street Fighter (1994, North America):

  • On the teaser trailer, the text and byline disappear and the globe fades into the plain blue circle, when then reveals various clips from the movie, the smoke clouds covers the logo's background which it zooms out and gets vanished.
  • On the TV Spot, the logo cross-fades and dissolves into a TV screen from M. Bison (played by Raul Julia).
  • On the promo video game based on the movie, it's almost the same as the movie itself but the text "IT'S A WHOLE OTHER GAME" appears on the background after the movie's logo zooms in.

Timecop (1994): The 1937 "Art-Deco Globe" logo is used.


Casper (1995): The 1927 Universal "Airplane Passing Globe" logo is used. Seen on the teaser trailer.


Waterworld (1995): The logo cross-fades into the sky above the water.


The American President (1995, International): The logo is more brightened than usual.


12 Monkeys (1995): The logo glitches out. Only seen on one TV spot.

Babe (1995): The red curtains and the three mices appear on the logo, covering the globe, while the letters cover the MCA byline. Only seen on one TV spot.


Twister (1996, International): The logo flashes away.


  • On the TV Spots and Trailer (except Australia and Netherlands), the logo gets flashed at once and goes back to normal. On the two TV spots, it's the same variation but it cuts to the clips of the film.


  • On one version of the trailer, it's the same variant but with the negative sepia-toned flashing.

The Frighteners (1996): The logo flashes three times at the end.


  • On TV spots, the light shines from the starfield and covers the globe into white background, and the text and byline turn into black and zooms out.



The Jackal (1997): The logo looks odd and the MCA byline is a little stretched by height. Only on the US teaser trailer, while the international teaser trailer for the film has the regular variation logo


The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997):

  • The logo ripples off and fading out into the mud after the heavy footstep sound is heard. Seen on the International TV Spot.
  • On the other TV Spots, the logo cross-fades to the clips of the film.

Dante's Peak (1997): The logo cross-fades to the Mountain. Seen on the one TV Spot.


Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998): The logo animates normal, and then it reverses.


Psycho (1998):

  • The logo gets messed up, which eventually adds footage from older movie countdown sounders.
  • On the TV Spot, The background fades into Norman Bates' eye. The logo then disappears after closing and opening his eye.
  • On one TV spot, the logo cross-fades into the showerhead.

Mercury Rising (1998): The logo swipes down to reveal the puzzle code.


End of Days (1999): The logo is tinted in denim blue.


Virus (1999): The logo is blown to ashes by electric rays.


American Pie (1999): The globe is replaced with a baked pie.


The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle (2000): On the teaser trailer, Bullwinkle's moose antlers grow on the left and right of the globe.


Gladiator (2000): The logo is on a stormy cloud background.


Shadow of the Vampire (2000): The logo turns black & white like an old film. Only on the 2001 home video trailer.


Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000):

  • Snowflakes are falling on the Universal globe.


  • On a 2001 UK home video trailer, the Grinch in his mechanical sleigh is seen circling around the globe, before flying towards the screen.

The Mummy Returns (2001): The logo is tinted in mustard.


Jurassic Park III (2001): Same as the movie itself, but it ripples a little bit.


The Bourne Identity (2002):

  • A target eyepiece moves in front of a tiny Universal logo, magnifying it, and the text zooms forward slowly as the globe zooms out behind while it continues spinning. At the last second, the whole logo hyper-zooms into the camera in a big flash.
  • On another trailer, the same animation plays backwards for a split second.

The Scorpion King (2002) and Robin Hood (2010): The logo plays backwards. Only on the trailers.


Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003): The logo is tinted in deep sky blue and is surrounded in light mist.


The Cat in the Hat (2003): Very similar to Twister, but the 1997 logo is used and flashes three times. Seen on the theatrical trailer.

  • On the teaser, the logo zooms in.

Wimbledon (2004): The logo turns into a yellow tennis ball for a second.


The Chronicles of Riddick (2004): The globe gets covered by darkness.


Ray (2004) and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010): The logo overlaps with the same logo in another position.


Thunderbirds (2004): The Universal logo morphs into the StudioCanal logo.

On the first British teaser trailer, the logo is initially seen, but sped-up. Then, the globe emits a lime-green glow oncethe animation finishes and the byline turns from orange to said color. This was supposed to appear in front of Hulk (2003), but was replaced with the normal logo at the final film.


Friday Night Lights (2004): The light dies down to reveal the Universal logo.


Van Helsing (2004): The globe turns into the moon, while the text fades away.


Land of the Dead (2005): The 1997 logo turns black & white and blurs out.


King Kong (2005): The screen zooms through the letters and into Earth. Also, the text's shadow is not there.


White Noise (2005): The globe gets put upon a green static background.


Doom (2005): The Universal globe turns into the planet Mars and the text "UNIVERSAL" burns up.


Serenity (2005): Same as the movie itself, but the URL is removed.


United 93 (2006): The logo turns into an animated sketch version of the Universal globe.


Flash of Genius (2008): The 1963 bylineless logo is used.


Wild Child (2008): The 1997 logo is sepia-toned and in the style of the movie.


Tropic Thunder/Scorcher VI: Global Meltdown (2008): In the fake trailer shown at the beginning of the film, the 1997 logo is used. The letters explode off into space and the planet turns into lava as the camera zooms in.


The Boat That Rocked (aka Pirate Radio) (2009): On the prototype British trailer, the logo is recreated and the screen zooms into the continents on the Earth.

On another trailer, the glow behind the globe is much less bright than usual.


American Pie Presents: The Book of Love (2009): The globe turns into a baked pie.


Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas (2009): The globe is much larger than usual, though the text is normal size. The colors on the globe are much crisper and have a higher intensity. It transforms into a golden tree ornament, then zooms in fast as the background changes to a Christmas tree.


The Wolfman (2010): On trailers and TV spots, the 1997 logo is gray and fades into the moon.


Repo Men (2010):

  • The logo is static, just like a computer would do.


  • On the TV spot, the logo is still static, but shown on a TV.

Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (aka Nanny McPhee Returns) (2010): On the international teaser trailer, the globe is replaced with the moon.


Your Highness (2011): The Universal globe is replaced by a historic version of the globe.


Hop (2011): Same as the movie itself, except that it is bylineless.


  • On one of TV spot, we see the minions recycled from the film's custom variant of the Illumination Entertainment logo, on the far right side of the text.

The Little Engine That Could (2011): Same as the movie itself. Seen on trailers and TV spots.


The Lorax (2012): The 1997 logo is shown at warp speed. Only on the international trailer.


Snow White and the Huntsman (2012): The 100th Anniversary logo is tinted in cold blue and snow is blowing past it.


Ted (2012): Same as the film itself, but it's bylineless and it brings forth the Media Rights Capital logo as the camera zooms in.


Storage 24 (2012): The logo is static shocked, along with the Medient and Unstoppable logos.


The Bourne Legacy (2012): The logo is tinted in skobeloff. Seen on the second trailer.


Oblivion (2013): On the international trailer, the 1997 logo is used.


Riddick (2013): The logo is sped up, animates in reverse, and turns yellow at the end.


R.I.P.D. (2013): Exactly like in the trailer for Riddick, but the logo doesn't turn yellow. Seen on trailers and TV spots.


Ouija (2014): The logo morphs out to the planchette of the Ouija board. Seen on a few TV spots.


Dracula Untold (2014): The logo is metallic silver on a black background.


Fifty Shades of Grey (2015): The logo is black and white.


Jurassic World (2015): The logo is animating in reverse, and when it is almost at the start, the Legendary logo shows up.


Minions (2015): The text is animating backwards behind the globe as it spins back. Then, the continents move together as the camera zooms in.


Crimson Peak (2015): The logo is tinted in crimson, hence the name of the movie.


By the Sea (2015): Same as the movie itself.


Krampus (2015): The globe is tinted in blue, the "UNIVERSAL" text is frozen, and snow falls in the background.


The Secret Life of Pets (2016): Similar to the Hop variant, the globe is replaced with an Easter Egg. Seen on a TV spot.


The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016): The logo is golden.


Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016): Same as the movie itself. Seen on the official trailer.


The Fate of the Furious (2017): The space background has red and blue flares, the globe is silver, the text is black with a silver border, and the byline is white.


The Mummy (2017): The globe turns into sand and dissolves to the left. Seen on the second trailer


Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You (2017): The snow falls over the logo and the text "UNIVERSAL" is decorated with the Christmas lights.


The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018): Same as the movie itself, but the logo plays normal in forward. Seen only on the first Official Trailer.


Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun (2019, International?): The print logo is in 3D over a light blue background. It then flips around to show the Entertainment One logo in pink and the Astley Baker Davies logo after that.


Yesterday (2019): The globe goes out due to a power outage along with the "UNIVERSAL" text.


F9 (2021): Same as The Fate of the Furious Super Bowl LI TV spot variant, but it is darker, and the background features a yellowish orange light.


Candyman (2021): Same as the movie itself. Seen on the second trailer.


House of Gucci (2021, International):

  • On the Australian Legacy trailer, the logo is on the left with the MGM logo in the middle and the BRON Studios logo on the right.

No Time to Die (2021, International): The logo spins and crossfades to a film clip.


The Black Phone (2021): On the home media release trailer, the logo is in a shade of teal.


The 355 (2022): The logo tilts clockwise and fades into a nine-way intersection.


Cyrano (2022, International):

  • The print logo is seen in white next to the MGM and BRON logos over a blurry dark background with lights. Seen on the international trailers; the US trailers have the standard on-screen MGM and BRON logos instead.

Jurrasic World Dominion (2022):

  • The logo is made of amber and the background is pure black.
  • On the teaser, it is bylineless.

The Munsters (2022): Same as the movie itself.


Moonage Daydream (2022): On the international trailer, the print logo is beside the Neon Distribution print logo and is superimposed on the trailer.


Violent Night (2022): The globe is replaced by a red Christmas ornament, the "UNIVERSAL" text is silver with red rims, the Comcast byline is red and the background is white and snows throughout.


Fast X (2023): The variant from the The Fate of the Furious Super Bowl LI TV spot is used, but the flares have been completely removed, the logo is darker and the "UNIVERSAL" text lights up like car lights.


The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023): The logo transitions into the DreamWorks Pictures logo.


Oppenheimer (2023): The logo briefly cuts to black.


Genie (2023): Same as the film itself.


My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023, International): The print logo is at the bottom of the Focus Features logo, and the background is the Chicago skyline. Seen on the international version of Universal Pictures' social media account.


Argylle (2024): The print logo is gold and superimposed over a shiny brown background with a diamond pattern. This was done by Devastudios and can be seen on their website.


Twisters (2024, North America): The logo starts with a glitch and goes back to normal. Seen on the second trailer.

  • On the international trailer from Indonesia, the leaves appear to be flowing in the wind over the logo.

MaXXXine (2024, International): The 1963 logo used, with the byline.


Wicked: Part One (2024): The logo is green, the color of Oz (and Elphaba).

In the LEGO version of trailer, the logo is same as the Motion Picture counterpart but is made of Lego bricks.
