1st Bumper (1980 to 1993)

Bumper: On a black or white background, the following clip ons fly in from the top-right corner:

  • "Coming Soon to a Theatre near you"
  • "Now you can Rent these Hit Titles from iVideo" (iVideo being in the custom font)
  • "Now you can Own these Hit Titles from iVideo"
  • "Coming to LaserDisc"
  • "Coming on Video"
  • "Now on Video"
  • "Now on LaserDisc"
  • "Feature Presentation"
  • "Stay Tuned for a Bonus Program"

The text is in a sans-sarif font. Variants:

  • Sometimes, the bumpers fly from the top-left.

Technique: Simple cel animation. Trivia: The LaserDisc ones were used beginning in 1989, when iVideo began distributing them. In 1984, iVideo delivered a pamplet titled "A guide to the little clip-ons, where it explains what they mean. According to the pamplet, Coming to/Now on means the title is for rent. The Hit Titles bumpers were used Music/Sounds:

A voiceover, along with the Bruton Music track "Seaspeed" by Alan Hawkshaw.

Music/Sounds Variants: Some have only the voiceover. Availability: Available on every videotape and LaserDisc by the company.
