Background

Blue Ribbon Content is the digital series production unit of Warner Bros. Television that produces and distributes live-action and animated programming for online platforms. It was launched in 2014 as a separate entity, though it serves as a spiritual successor to Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Warner Bros. Studio 2.0.

1st Logo (2014-July 18, 2018)

Logo: On an orange background, we see a blue colored ribbon. "BLUE RIBBON Content" and the TimeWarner byline is in it. A number date appears in the bottom right corner as well. The logo zooms in a bit.

Trivia: The name and logo are a reference to the "Blue Ribbon" re-releases of older Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons during the 1940s and 1950s.

Variants: This logo varies in colors depending on the show.

• Play It Again, Dick: Orange background and blue ribbon.
• Now We're Talking: Red background and blue and black ribbon.
• Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles: Red background and blue and red colored ribbon.
• Ellen's Pet Dish: Blue background and yellow ribbon.
• JoJoHead: Orange background and cyan and red ribbon.
• On Vixen, Vixen: The Movie, and Freedom Fighters: The Ray, the logo is flashed in before the opening on a cloudy/smoke-like bluish/grayish background with light hues showing the logo before switching over to the DC Entertainment logo.

Technique: Simple computer animation.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening/ending theme of the showfilm.

Availability: Seen on the first season of Now We're Talking, Play It Again, Dick, Vixen, Freedom Fighters: The Ray, JoJoHead, Vixen: The Movie, the Machinima series Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, and Ellen's Pet Dish on the TheEllenShow YouTube channel.

2nd Logo (July 17, 2017-2019)

Logo: On a concrete background, the same logo from before can be seen, but it appears to be a piece of paper. It constantly flashes between different color combinations, with subtle changes in lighting, camera positioning, and also the paper being damaged and repaired in a few shots.

Variants:

• On Daphne & Velma, the logo is zoomed in.
• On Constantine: City of Demons, the logo is in its print form on a parchment background.

Technique: Stop-motion animation.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening/ending theme of the show/film.

Availability: First seen on Play With Caution on Disney XD's short-lived D|XP block. Also seen on the second season of Now We're Talking, Daphne & Velma, Constantine: City of Demons, Good Girls Get High and Best Shot.

3rd Logo (March 21, 2019-)

Logo: We see the words "BLUE RIBBON Content" against multiple claymation scenes including:

• What appears to be a spaghetti monster with the logo forming in the middle.
• A series of triangular mountains/pyramids, one with the all-seeing eye on it and the logo in the middle.
• A red deserted island with dancing palm trees and a pair of sunglasses on the ground. The logo appears in the middle of the sun.
• A high-stacked burger with the logo appearing in the middle as containers of mustard and ketchup appear on either side and squirt briefly.
• The summit of an active volcano with the logo inside the crater.
• The face of a monster whose mouth opens to reveal the logo.
• A cartoonish version of Earth with the logo on it. A meteor is flying by Earth with a satellite orbiting around it.
• A wave of color lines that form the ribbon logo, which is colored blue and gold and has a (barely visible) WarnerMedia byline on it in white.

Variants:

• A more common slightly shorter variant exists, which lacks the final scene.
• A short variant uses just a few of the scenes. What scenes appear depends on the show: on Critters: A New Binge, it goes like spaghetti monster, volcano, monster, and Earth.
• On Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons, only the mountains/pyramids scene is shown.

Technique: Claymation done by Chris McDonnell at McD Workshop, with additional work by Peter Girardi from Blue Ribbon Content.

Music/Sounds: A funky drum-driven piece with a blender at the end, or the opening/closing theme of the show/film.

Availability: Current.

• The full version was uploaded to McD Workshop's website and YouTube channel and is yet to be used on any of BRC's output.
• So far, the shorter version has seen more use. It was first seen at the end of Critters: A New Binge on Shudder, and has since been seen on The Banana Splits Movie, Critters Attack!, the end of A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish (the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment logo appears at the beginning), Toys of Terror, and Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons.
