California Filmes

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (2001-2006)

Visuals: The sequence starts off with a moving spotlight revealing the logo (a silver hexagon-shaped letter "C" with a silver word "CALIFORNIA" in it and a word "FILMES" below), as well as a familiar Hollywood sign. A flaming underline draws in, and the footage imprints itself on a filmstrip. The camera zooms out to reveal a CGI model of the company's office, and zooms in to it, revealing some sort of a hall. A silver rectangle and the word "CALIFORNIA" zoom out, as the aforementioned letter draws in, and the word "FILMES" zooms out also. An orange burst then occurs, revealing a black background.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The 1989-1998 Image Entertainment audio accompanied by a thunder sound and a bass-boosted whoosh.

Availability: Seen on DVD releases from the company, such as Desconhecidos.

2nd Logo (2006-2008)

Visuals: On a blue gradient background, the word "CALIFORNIA" in blue fades and zooms in, and a blue curved filmstrip appears while flashing. The blue word "FILMES" slides in to the lower-right portion, and the whole logo leaves light rays. A light then occurs on the second letter "A".

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A chime glissando, followed by a 9-note orchestral score.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

3rd Logo (2008-2011)

Visuals: On a starfield, a light occurs, and a silver filmstrip zooms out while facing the top. It then curves around, forming a blue letter "O", and the text "CALIF RNIA" fades and slides in slowly. The word "FILMES" from before slides in from the right, and a blue filmstrip fades in and curves, settling in the center.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestic synth fanfare.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

4th Logo (2011- )

Visuals: On a starfield, a turquoise filmstrip flies around, later curving around and making a gray word "CALIFORNIA" fade in. A light then slides across, and a blue filmstrip curves around as "FILMES" in a metallic blue color fades in.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A re-arranged version of the previous audio.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]
