Background

Digital Entertainment Inc. was an Indian home video distributor.

Logo (1998-2002)

Visuals: On a space background, there are two bright spotlights briefly intersect before we see the 3D gold structure that is the abbreviation "DEI" appear in the center of the screen with a bright glowing trail behind it as it zooms in and turns to face the camera, the trail absorbing into the letters as it does so. A green, sun-like flare then zooms to the right below the letters, leaving the company's name ("DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT, INC.") behind it in white text before disappearing.

Variant: There is also an extended version appearing on newer releases. There is a platform against a sea environment with spotlights on the corners. The camera spins, as a light descends and collides with the platform, forming a flash which brings up a large, rippling gray sphere. Then the "DEI" logo spins in from behind, glowing. The logo slightly zooms in, before the screen fades to black, and the original animation plays as usual.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An abridged version of the second Image Entertainment logo (which may be stock), followed by opening bell notes from "Ek Duje Ke Vaaste" (from the 1997 film Dil To Pagal Hai) when the text shines below.

Audio Variant: The extended version used an orchestral fanfare with synthesizers.

Availability: Digital Entertainment, Inc. distributed many DVD releases of Bollywood movies from the 70s, 80s and 90s, such as Baazigar. These DVDs can be found either online or in West Indian stores, and possibly the foreign section of your local library. [Examples?]
