Background

Little Airplane Productions (doing business as Little Airplane until its closedown in 2023) was an American television production company co-founded by Josh Selig and Lori Shaer (née Sherman). The company produced Oobi for Noggin, The Wonder Pets! for Nickelodeon, and 3rd & Bird for the BBC. It has also released a variety of independent short films. Since 2017, the company has been owned by Studio 100, which entered a co-production agreement to create the comedy series Doctor Space. The company's name is derived from the 1994 Sesame Street short, "I'm a Little Airplane", which Selig produced.

In June 2023, it was announced via website that Little Airplane Productions officially ceased operations and it was replaced by a new company called Terribly Terrific! Productions.

The company was founded in 1999, but did not use a logo until 2003.

Visuals: On a black background, the white text "Little Airplane Productions" in Felt Tip Roman is shown at the top of the screen, and a website URL at the bottom. In the center is rectangle-shaped footage of Pine Bank Arch in Central Park with green trees and a little girl wearing a hat and a blue dress, going in circles with her arms out.

Trivia: The footage was taken from the aforementioned "I'm a Little Airplane" short. The short was filmed at Central Park in New York City, Also home to Pine Bank Arch.

Variants:

• The size of the URL may differ.
• Starting with Go Baby!, the text is now drawn more smoothly. There is also a monarch butterfly (presumably the one in the show) flying around next to the girl.
  • On that mentioned show, the 2004 Granada logo appears below the footage. The URL is also absent in this variant.
• Early episodes of Oobi had the clip in full size with the company name in black below the girl, and no URL
  • On the company's website, no Little Airplane indicator is present, leaving only the clip.
• Starting with Wonder Pets!, the clip is zoomed out to reveal half of a building and the URL also now has 'www.' sandwiched next to 'l', making it read "www.littleairplane.com".

Audio: A little girl saying one of the following statements:

• Oobi: "This has been a Little Airplane production."
• Wonder Pets! and Go Baby!: "Little Airplane!" (possibly voiced by Danica Lee, who voiced Ming Ming in the first aforementioned show).
• Official website: "Welcome to Little Airplane Productions."

Audio Variants:

• On Go Baby!, the Granada logo's music plays over the girl's quote.
• Original broadcasts of Wonder Pets played before December 2006, had the voiceover fade into the Nick Jr. Productions logo.

Availability:

• Seen on early episodes of Wonder Pets! and Oobi episodes starting with season 2 (the more common variant starting use on season 3) on Nick Jr. and Noggin (until both shows were removed from the channel) It is preserved on Pluto TV prints of Wonder Pets!. Also seen on Go Baby! on Disney Junior.
• The website version can be seen using the Wayback Machine.

Legacy: This is seen as a memorable logo among those who grew up watching Little Airplane's shows made during this time.

2nd Logo (July 1, 2008-January 31, 2021)

Visuals: On a black background, a red and white emblem with a red outlined airplane on it with "Little Airplane" at the top and "Productions" on the bottom, bounces down to the screen. The URL address fades in.

Variants:

• A still in-credit variant without the URL appears on some shows.
• On Tobi!, the animation is in-credit.
• A still version on a white background also exists, again lacking the URL.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A "BOING!" sound when the emblem bounces onto the screen, followed by the "Little Airplane!" sound from the last logo (again, possibly voiced by Danica Lee, who voiced Ming Ming in The Wonder Pets!).

Audio Variants:

• A video of a tour through the company has a "DING!" sound effect replacing the "BOING!" sound, though if one listens closely when the quote is heard, the last snippet of the "BOING!" can still be heard.
• Otherwise, the end theme plays over it.

Availability:

• The animated version can be found on episodes of Wonder Pets! starting with mid-season 3, and was also intact on reruns of episodes from that time on Nick Jr.
• The "ding" variant can be found at the end of the video showcasing the tour of the company.
• The in-credit version can be found on 3rd & Bird, Small Potatoes, Super Wings and The Dog & Pony Show.
  • However, Discovery Kids (Latin America) airings of the latter do not show the logo at all.
• The still white background version can be found on The Adventures of Napkin Man and P. King Duckling.
