Background

Marza Animation Planet is a Japanese CGI animation studio owned by Sega Sammy Holdings that was created in 2006 as a department within Sega as the Sega VE Animation Studio (or the Visual Entertainment R&D division). It was spun-off from the Sega company in 2009 as an independent Sega Sammy subsidiary and was renamed to Sega Sammy Visual Entertainment for a while until 2010, when the company was renamed to its current name. The company has provided CG animation services for a number of Sega games as well as animating and/or producing a number of original, co-produced and/or outsourced titles.

1st Logo (2010-)

Visuals: On a black background, an orange ribbon and two orbs swirl around together with the orbs spinning to the ribbon's movement. Then, the ribbon and orbs form the symbol while the ribbon moves to the screen, transitioning into the finished product.

Variant: Another variant has two fingerprints that appear shortly after the logo is formed.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A dramatic violin theme, followed by a child saying "Marza".

Availability: This can be seen on the 2015 demo reel for the company. The logo can be also seen on Harlock: Space Pirate.

2nd Logo (July 9, 2016)

Visuals: On a black background, five squared dots can be seen. The dots, later write out the word "MARZA" while the other dots on the bottom write out "ANIMATION PLANET". The Marza symbol shows up shortly before the letters form and on the bottom of the logo is the byline "A SEGA COMPANY". The symbol shines for a bit before fading to black.

Technique: A mix of digital traditional animation and CGI.

Audio: An epic twilight-sounding deep note

Availability: Seen on Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.
