Background

Medienvertrieb in Buchholz (MiB) was a German home video distributor.

Logo (Early 2000s-2010)

Visuals: On a black background, a black filmstrip sliding downwards is revealed leaving light rays as a black dot appears in the upper-left corner of each piece of the filmstrip. The camera zooms in towards one of it, and the dot draws in a letter "B" with its upper part extended and with orange sparks occurring on it. It is followed by two more black lines wiping in vertically from bottom to top and their lower parts extending slightly, as a triangle flips in in the extended side of the letter "B", thus forming a letter "M" and connecting with the said letter, forming a letter "i" cut-out. The monogram flashes as the filmstrip fades out, making the monogram red whilst glowing white with the letter "i" being in a darker color. The text "MEDIENVERTRIEB IN BUCHHOLZ" fades in below.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A stuttering synth drone, followed by an ambient shining sound and a descending laser zap. A held-out synth choir is heard, followed by a synth chord.

Availability: Seen on DVD releases from the company, such as Near Dark, Mil gritos tiene la noche, The Monster Club and others.
