Background

OLM, Inc., formerly Oriental Light and Magic, is is a Japanese animation and film studio in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan, founded on October 3, 1990, by former Studio Gallop and OB Planning employees.

They're most famous for being the studio behind the Pokémon anime series, also producing for the other game franchises Inazuma Eleven and Beyblade. Other notable adaptations and series from this company include Berserk, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Komi-san Can't Communicate, ODDTAXI, and The Apothecary Diaries.

Animated Logos

Logo (1995-1997)

Visuals: On a black background, a teal-grey marble textured cylinder flies in, resting near the center of the screen. Then, an "L" with a leftover bolt shape from the tip comes up and the shine draws the M. After this, it turns teal, with the intersected bolt turning white as the text "Oriental Light & Magic Inc." fades in underneath.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth tune with a ding and harp.

Availability: It appeared on their productions such as VAP Video's release of Berserk.

In-Credit Logos

Logo (October 3, 1995-)

Visuals: There is the OLM symbol, with either "Oriental Light & Magic, Inc." or "OLM, Inc. OLM Digital, Inc." (prior to 2006) underneath it.

Technique: Superimposed animation.

Audio: The opening/ending theme of the show.

Availability: Shown on all of OLM's works from 1995 onwards, starting with Mojacko.
