Background

Right Stuf Inc. (formerly known as The Right Stuf International Inc.) is an independent video publisher and distributor of video programming that specializes in Asian entertainment (anime and live-action films), founded in July 1987. The company has several divisions, including Nozomi Entertainment (production), Critical Mass (adult titles), RightStuf.com (online store) and 5 Points Pictures (live action). Since August 4, 2022, the company has been owned by Sony by their Crunchyroll division, and also shut down Critical Mass due to ethical reasons.

1st Logo (1997-2000s)

Logo: On a cloudy background, the text "THE RIGHT STUF INTERNATIONAL INC." is seen taking up much of the screen in a stacked formation. "RIGHT STUF" is bordered by 2 thin lines above and below it, and is much larger than the rest of the text, with "INC." being much smaller. A TM symbol is also seen in the upper right corner.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: A calm theme with a jangling guitar and synthesized string section, ending with a rising synth sound and one final note. It almost sounds like the New World Television music.

Availability: Rare. It can be seen on several anime tapes and DVDs around that period, like on Comic Party, Leda: The Fantastic Adventure of Yohko, among others.

2nd Logo (Early-Late 2000s?)

TBA.

3rd Logo (Late 2000s- )

Logo: On a black background, a fiery yellow spark draws out the text "RightStuf", with the "f" in "Stuf" being semi-enclosed inside a stylized exclamation mark.

Variant: Beginning in the 2010s, the logo was changed to match RightStuf's current logo, consisting of a circle with a translucent slanted exclamation mark inside of it, and "RightStuf" on the right. All of the logo is in red.

Technique: Computer particle effects.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on current releases from the company. It also follows the Nozomi Entertainment logo on that label's releases.
