Season 2 variant
I'm starting to get the feeling even the original blue cassette print run of the first two US Thomas volumes used this logo. |

Line 100:
* On <u>the original UK broadcasts for the third season</u> of ''Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends'' (1991-1992), the notice "A Britt Allcroft production in association with Fuji Television Network, Inc." is shown on the logo's regular background, written in the then-corporate ''Thomas & Friends'' typeface (Rockwell Condensed Bold). After this message is displayed, it cuts to the first closing variant. Also, for the first 16 episodes from "A Scarf for Percy" to "Edward, Trevor and the Really Useful Party", the notice is in white, whilst for the final ten episodes from "Buzz, Buzz" to "Thomas and Percy's Christmas Adventure", the notice is in yellow.
** On the ''Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends'' episode "<u>Trust Thomas</u>", which can be found on the 1994 UK VHS release ''Children's Pre-School Special Collection'', the copyright notice appears at the bottom of the screen underneath the "A Britt Allcroft production in association with Fuji Television Network, Inc." notice.
** The first bunch of text (not the copyright screen) is also set over the still of the final shot of the first 16 episodes from "A Scarf for Percy" to "Edward, Trevor and the Really Useful Party", which
** This variant is also preserved on both ''Thomas Gets Bumped and 17 Other Stories'' and ''Thomas' Christmas Party and 17 Other Stories'', respectively, with an extended copyright date copyrighting all the years the episodes first aired.

** The three main variants are preserved on seasons 3-5 of the show, as well as current prints and home media releases of the first two series. The second closing variant became the main one starting in 1994.
** The "Classic Collection" releases of the show also use this logo as well.

The Britt Allcroft Company (known initially in the UK as "Britt Allcroft Railway Productions") was a British production and licensing company established in 1983 by Britt Allcroft and Angus Wright. They immediately bought the rights to The Railway Series of children's books and in 1984, created Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, recognized as one of the longest-running children's series (with new episodes being produced until January 2021). Other notable productions were Shining Time Station and The Magic Adventures of Mumfie.
Allcroft formed a subsidiary, Gullane Pictures, in late 1997; ultimately, Gullane Pictures only produced Thomas and the Magic Railroad, which was a cinematic failure. In September 2000, as a result of Thomas and the Magic Railroad's failure, Allcroft stepped down as the company's CEO and soon, it was reformed as Gullane Entertainment.
Visuals: On a blue background, the original logo for Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends is seen. The logo consists of a picture of Thomas with a puff of smoke that displays the show's name (which appears to be chroma-keyed onto the logo), in front of an oval that resembles a railway number plate. On the oval is the text " (C) Britt Allcroft Limited 1984". Above the symbol is the text "for Britt Allcroft Ltd" (this logo was always preceded by the Clearwater Features logo, so that the complete text reads "A Clearwater Features Production for Britt Allcroft Ltd") in a yellow Bevan font (the same used for the original end credits).
Variants:
Technique: A still graphic consisting of an illustration and chroma-keyed text.
Audio: The ending theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on the original prints of the first two seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends.
