Background

Taunton Press is a publisher of periodicals, books, and websites for the hobbyist and building trades based in Newtown, Connecticut. It was established in 1975 by Paul Roman and his wife Jan.

Logo (1986-1999)

Visuals: On a black background, a light occurs and reveals a white ring zooming in, soon forming an eye-like shape. An outlined letter "T" wipes in, and an outlined white rectangle then draws in. The letter fades to red, and the rectangle fades to blue. White words "The Taunton Press" wipe in below.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A majestic synth fanfare, ending with 4 dings.
