Background

Yaway Film & Television (亞威影視有限公司) was a video distributor company headquartered in Shilin District, Taipei City. They were founded in 1993 and possibly ceased operations during 2004.

Logo (1993?)

Visuals: Over a starfield, brief thunder appears on-screen as the camera zooms, and two metallic objects appear. The screen fades with only one metallic object being shown, which zooms and faces into the camera, revealing a circle in-between two bars, with other two lines dividing the insides of the circle; in-between the lines there is a "W". "YA" appears moving behind the logo and places at the left inside the circle. The left half of the logo duplicates as it turns to the other side, forming an "AY" at the right of the circle. The formed logo zooms back, while the Chinese characters "亞威影視" in two groups come out from the sides spinning, before quickly sliding and joining in below the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestic orchestral theme with horns (possibly the theme of a film / TV show), with thunder and whooshing sounds when the logo forms. It is then cutoff by a female announcer saying "Happy Yaway Video".

Availability: Seen on a home video release of 釈迦.
