Background

Aftab Pictures was an Indian Hindi-language film production company.

Logo (October 28, 1983-February 11, 2000)


Visuals: On a yellow set, a dark platform is shown, which rotates 90 degrees to the right and reveals the dark numbers "786". Then the lightning of the set changes, making the background black and the rest of the structure revealed. A rectangle is shown below the numbers with the text "AFTAB PICTURES (P) LTD." at the front.

Variant: There's an older variant, used on Balidaan and Qayamat, where the platform does the same movements, like in the normal logo. However, the set is dark and illuminated by a purple light (a la B.R. Films), as well as the rectangle containing a different set of text, which says "CITIZEN PICTURES".

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: An Indian man saying "नूर-ए-हक़ शम्मे इलाही को बुझा सकता है कौन, जिसका हामी हो ख़ुदा उसको मिटा सकता है कौन", then a short swarmandal theme after the logo is revealed. On Mehndi, another person is reciting the line.
