Background
Breaking Glass Pictures is an independent film distribution company based in the US. With a catalogue of over 300 titles, it focuses on releasing a wide range of provocative and challenging films from horror, foreign language, art house, and genre to LGBTQ and more.
1st Logo (November 16, 2009-November 1, 2011)
Visuals: On a black background, the text "Breaking Glass Pictures" in white with "picutres" in small letters zooms in and stops. After a while, glass cracks. Then, the glass is broken further, revealing a light blue background and the first and last words colored in cyan. The logo glows.
Variant: Early trailers feature a still version.
Technique: 2D photo-animation done by Dead-I Productions.
Audio: The sounds of breaking glass.
Availability: Seen on early Breaking Glass releases, such as The Band (the first movie by the company), Just Like the Son, Marathon, The Trouble with Romance, Darkness, American Harmony, and Without a Home.
2nd Logo (November 22, 2011-)
Visuals: On a blue gradient background, a light slides to the top, and the blue-ish words "breaking glass pictures" in a stacked format zoom in, as the background shatters. It soon fades to black, as the flakes fall down, and the logo slightly zooms in.
Technique: Computer animation and possibly live-action.
Audio: A dreamy dramatic note, followed by a sound of glass breaking.
Availability: Seen on Game of Life, The M Word, The Suffering, and others.
