Indian News Review was a series of Indian newsreels.



1st Logo (1951-1960)

Visuals: Over a footage of a cloudy sky with three rows of planes flying across, an undetailed model of the state emblem of India (three lions looking to the various directions fades in above), as well as the Hindi text below it and the white text "Indian News Review" in a fancy font.

Technique: Live-action and fading effects.

Audio: A sitar & xylophone & drum tune. Sometimes, there's a majestic violin stinger, or none.

Availability: Seen on newsreels from the period.

2nd Logo (1961-1973)

Visuals: Settled on a dark environment, the emblem from before is shown above leaving circular waves. The 3D text "INDIAN" zooms in from it. and the text "NEWS REVIEW" zooms in from below to the center of the said text.

Variant: Sometimes, the text is translated into Hindi.

Technique: Traditional animation.

Audio: A dramatic violin theme with bongos.

Audio Variants:

  • Starting from 1969, an ascending synth theme with bongos was heard.
  • Starting from 1973, a descending synth note was heard, followed by a dramatic horn and drum tune.
