Background

Les Films du Losange was founded in 1962 by Iranian-Swiss film director Barbet Schroeder and French director Éric Rohmer as a French production and distribution company. The company has produced over 150 films since its establishment.

1st Logo (February 27, 1963-May 19, 1965)


Visuals: Over a black background, there is a stacked "LES FILMS DU LOSANGE" in a white, serif font with an outline of a diamond shape below. Underneath is "BARBET SCHROEDER" in a white, serif, bold font with "PRESENTENT" in a white, serif text at the bottom-left of it.

Variant: On Six in Paris, the logo is superimposed.

Technique: A still printed image.

Audio: Opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Seen only in Suzanne's Career and Six in Paris.

2nd Logo (January 29, 1992)

Visuals: Over a black background, there is a yellow diamond being drawn counter-clockwise. After that, the diamond has diamond outlines around it and "les films du losange" fades in below as the diamond outlines disappears. The logo fades out.

Technique: 2D cel animation.

Audio: A long dramatic piano.

Availability: Seen on Conte d'hiver.
