Background

Nasir Hussain Films is an Indian film company founded in 1960 by Nasir Hussain. It produced several films from 1961 until 1992. Although the company didn't produce films past 1992, the company is active and has participated in some films by equipments and editing.

1st Logo (November 3, 1961)

Visuals: There is a column with the word "FILMS" in its capital. Above it, there's an "nH", with a facial sculpture facing right seen above the "n". Footage of a camera panning around a cloudy sky is shown partially overlapping the said column.

Technique: Camera-controlled animation and chroma-keyed footage.

Audio: While a drumroll plays, a deep male voice says a Hindi dialogue before ending with a cymbal crash.

Availability: It was only seen in Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai. Current restored prints of the said film mostly omit the logo and proceed directly to the film's opening credits, while some home video prints kept the logo intact.

2nd Logo (September 6, 1963-May 22, 1992)

Visuals: The logo starts with various lightning and fog on a black background. As the lightning stops appearing a line shoots by and forms a circular border. The line leaves three marks and keeps on spinning fast. Everything fades into a clearer background, and the lights reveal the same column as described in the previous logo, now shot at a different angle.

Variants:

• On Teesri Manzil, the logo is tinted red.
• On Baharon Ke Sapne, the logo is in B&W.
• From 1973 to 1992, when the logo company appears, the face is yellow, the nH is almost white, the background is less darker and the "FILMS" letters are in different colours.

Technique: A mix of live-action and cel animation.

Audio: Until the apparition of the logo:

• From 1963 to 1973: A dark hum with the sounds of thunder, then an arpeggiated swarmandal, followed by a cymbal crash.
• From 1977 to 1992: A tune with a violin with the sounds of the thunder, and then a kind of xylophone is played, followed after by a kind of computer sound and six-note dramatic fanfare.

When the logo of the company appears:

• From 1963 to 1977: A male announcer saying "क्या इश्क़ ने समझा है क्या हुस्न ने जाना है, हम ख़ाक-नशीनों की ठोकर में ज़माना है", and when he stops, there is another cymbal. Baharon Ke Sapne uses a different voice.
• Hum Kisise Kum Naheen: After the male announcer finishes speaking, the logo is silent.
• From 1981 to 1992, the male announcer is different, and after he finishes speaking, there are some notes from a kind of swarmandal.

Availability: Seen on Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Teesri Manzil, Pyar Ka Mausam, Caravan, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai, Manzil Manzil, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.
