Background

Started on January 1914, Neptune Film Company was a British film production company John East and Percy Nash after leaving the newly formed London Film Company (established in 1913) financial support from businessman Arthur Moss Lawrence and barrister Thomas Lennox Gilmore. Its first film, Bully Boy, was released in October 1914, with British illustrator Lancelot Speed showcasing a mix of live-action and animation with a propagandistic nature, and the success of this film led to the company creating a series of Bully Boy films, as suggested by Neptune.

The sporadic release schedule of the series (e.g. No. 4, Sea Dreams - not until 10 December, No. 5, A Chip Off the Old Block; or, The Half-a-Crown Prince - not until 18 January, No. 6, The Jolly Roger - not until 17 April), which reflected on Speed's desire to improve and increase the animation's complexity, and financial difficulties within the company as a result of the increasing number of companies, and the resulting increase in film production, and by summer of 1915, the company was underfunded.

With the consistent delays and unfinished films/projects, the company ceased production in 1917, and eventually liquidated on 1920. [1]

Once he stops rising, only having his upper half shown, he lowers both of his arms.
