Background

Northern Lights Films is an American film financing company.

1st Logo (March 6, 2012-April 5, 2013)

Visuals: Five geometric shapes with long jagged ends are shown. All but the center are scalene triangles whereas the former has an extra point on top. Together, they mask through a color-driven view of the northern lights. The company name in an evenly spaced and stacked format as well as a serif font is below the logo.

Variant: On The Brass Teapot, the upper-most portion of the lights is dark. "FILMS" shares the same spacing as "NORTHERN LIGHTS" and the logo as a whole slowly zooms in.

Technique: A still, digital graphic or zooming effects.

Audio: None.

Availability: The logo is seen on High Road and The Brass Teapot.

2nd Logo (March 13, 2015)

Visuals: A view of a nighttime sky on top of a black silhouetted pine tree forest is shown. A green aurora borealis forms a gigantic curved "N" shaped above-said elements. "NORTHERN LIGHTS FILMS", in a tall font, is below the graphic.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: The logo is seen on It Follows.

3rd Logo (April 24, 2020)

Visuals: The sequence begins with a nighttime river view of a pine tree forest and a mountain in the distance set during winter. The screen pans up to show the aurora borealis drawing in the shape of an "N", which wipe out from the left and crossfades with a lower-right facing solid, curved "N" shape in aquamarine and with rounded, tall depth against a black background. It zooms out and "NORTHERN LIGHTS", in a stacked format, slides out to the left with each letter coming from an individual mask.

Technique: CGI and flash animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: The logo is seen on To the Stars.
