Background

Ocean Movies was run by late Indian film actor and director Shiv Kumar.

1st Logo (September 20, 1985)

Visuals: The sequence starts off with footage of the ocean (hence the company name). After three seconds, a rotating white outline of the sun rises from the ocean and when it reaches the sky, then company's name "OCEAN MOVIES" in white wipes in upwards on the sea. An Aum symbol appears inside the sun outline and the giant letters "OM" wipe in downwards between the outline and the company's name, which also has an ocean sketch inside it.

Technique: Live-action and possibly 2D computer animation.

Audio: A short vibraphone glissando when the sun outline rises, and a stock swarmandal tune with a few vibraphone notes is followed.

Availability: Seen only on Lalluram.

2nd Logo (January 10, 1986)

Visuals: Another scene of the ocean is displayed. A white, simpler sketch of the OM symbol inside the sun appears above the ocean and zooms in for a brief period of time, stopping when it covers half of the screen. The company's name in a Sanskrit style appears underneath the symbol, rippling and flashing twice as it fades in. After a while it stops.

Technique: Live-action and possibly 2D computer animation.

Audio: Wave crashing noises with a female choir chanting "Om" thrice is heard throughout the logo.

Availability: Seen only on Maati Balidan Ki.
