Background
Pegazus Film was a Hungarian film production and distribution company founded in 1938 Lajos Zilahy, István Beszedits, and Tibor Buday. The company also distributed foreign films such as a dozen German, French, English and Italian films in domestic cinemas during the German invasion in March 1944. The company ceased to exist during nationalization, despite Zilahy trying to keep it alive after the war.[1]
1st Logo (February 2, 1939)
Visuals: The company name "PEGAZUS FILM" in white and in a fancy serif font is shown arched on the bottom of the screen against a black background. A huge shining white light bursts around the setting, revealing a silhouetted semi-circle the text was sitting on, along with a silhouetted illustration of a pegasus prancing with its wings spread open. To finish it off, "BEMUTATJA" in the same typeface as the company name fades in below the company name.
Technique: Cel animation.
Audio: The film's opening theme.
Availability: Was only known to appear in a TV airing of Süt a nap.
2nd Logo (December 21, 1939-January 26, 1944)
Visuals: A detailed model of a prancing Pegasus on top of an invisible pedestal fades in against a black background. The model starts to rotate clockwise, and while it is rotating, a stacked "PEGAZUS FILM BEMUTATJA" fades in below the model. Shortly after, the model stops rotating and returns to its original position.
Variant: On Hazajáró lélek, "BEMUTATJA" was removed.
Technique: Model work and chroma-key effects.
Audio: The film's opening theme.
Availability: Seen only in Halálos tavasz, Hazajáró lélek, and Valamit visz a víz.
