Background

Shantketan Films was an Indian film production company established around 1980 by late film producer K.C. Sharma.

1st Logo (November 6, 1981-March 27, 1987)

Visuals: It starts off with a stock space background with faint galaxies passing by. After about 15 seconds, a stylized "SKF" in white appears from the bottom of the screen and travels to the center of the screen. The "SKF" clones several times and about halfway through, A hand-drawn globe apears on the top portion of the screen and places itself above the "SKF". A hand doing a hand sign appears in front of the globe, which causes the "SKF" clones to stop appearing, along with the company's name "Shantketan Films" in a white, curvy font appearing below the hand and globe. The space background fades away, and a set of sunrays appear behind the hand. Lastly, it zooms in for half almost a second.

Technique: A mix of chroma-keyed imagery and traditional animation.

Audio: Staring with a tampura rolling in the background, multiple synthesized glissandos play when the "SKF" is first shown, and a melody is made by a woodwind instrument when the company's name appears.

Audio Variant: In Shradhanjali, it starts off with a few ascending vibraphone notes, followed by a dreamy synthesized tune when the "SKF" is first shown, which gets more dramatic as more elements appear in the logo. When the text appears, a dramatic chorus with bells ringing is heard.

Availability: Seen on Shradhanjali, Bandhan Kuchchey Dhaagon Ka and Hukumat.

2nd Logo (August 18, 1989-May 19, 1995)

Visuals: An updated version of the previous logo, with the space scenery having less galaxies and more moving stars. At the beginning, images of planets Jupiter and Saturn on the bottom-right and left corners respectively, along with an image of the Andromeda galaxy on the top-right of the background fade in and zoom in towards the viewer, which all fade out after a few seconds as a spinning model of the earth emerges from the bottom-left corner of the screen and zooms to the center of the background. Shortly after stopping, the same "SKF" travels to the center of the earth, leaving a sky-blue trail. The initials appear and zoom seven times before a differently-styled, brighter-colored hand fades in behind the earth. This is followed by a set of white rays appearing behind the SKF logo, which is paired with the company name in the same style as the previous logo.

Variants: In its first initial appearances, the company name was displayed as "Shantketan Film Combines".

Technique: Scanimate animation and live action with some chroma-keyed effects at certain points.

Audio: Staring with a tampura rolling in the background, multiple synthesized glissandos play when the "SKF" is first shown, and a melody is made by a woodwind instrument when the company's name appears.

Audio Variant: In Maa, the fanfare cuts off abruptly when it reaches near the end.

Availability: Seen on Elaan E Jung, Tahalka, Maa and Policewala Gunda.
