Background

Sujatha Cine Arts is an Indian Tamil-language film company founded by K. Balaji in 1966.

1st Logo (June 7, 1968-January 26, 1986)

Visuals: On a color-changing background is the silhouette of a statue rotating 90 degrees. The statue gets illuminated, revealing it to be a griffin holding a small shield with "SCA" engraved. The griffin stands on a pedestal which reads "SUJATHA CINE ARTS".

Technique: Practical effects.

Variants:

  • A version with the Tamil text of the company's name on the wing intact.
  • Sometimes, the background can be a different color.
  • On a few movies, the logo can be darker or brighter. This is possibly due to film issues.

Audio: A bombastic yet happy-sounding trumpet fanfare.

Availability: Seen on their releases from this period, such as Sattam.

2nd Logo (July 20, 2007)

Visuals: On a space background with a gold light and a gold searchlight is the silhouette of a statue from before now in a 3D model. 2 more searchlights cross, illuminating the statue (with a griffin and "SCA" in gold). "SUJATHA CINE ARTS" in gold and in a futuristic font, wipes in via light effect and shines. The searchlights continue to cross.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A remastered version of the previous logo.

Availability: Only seen on Kireedam.
